Validation
- Verify the requesting authority, legal process, scope and jurisdiction.
- Seek clarification or narrow overbroad requests where appropriate and lawful.
- Disclose no more data than legally required and reasonably identified.
- Preserve confidentiality when legally required; notify affected users where permitted and appropriate.
Emergency requests
Claims of emergency do not automatically override verification. Imminent-risk requests should receive expedited review under an appropriate legal and safety process.
