Retention principles
- Define purpose-linked retention rather than indefinite storage by default.
- Delete or anonymize data when the purpose expires unless preservation is justified.
- Preserve records subject to legal hold, active disputes, fraud/abuse investigation or security needs.
- Backups and replicated systems may follow separate bounded deletion cycles.
Editorial records
Public correction history and private editorial/audit evidence serve different purposes. Private prompts, moderation evidence and security-sensitive data should not be exposed merely because a public article exists.
